The Chicago Cubs had another disappointing season as they failed to win a World Series yet again. This is now over 100 years thatÂ
this team has not been crowned champions, and it definitely takes a toll on the organization as a whole. This time, something was done because of all of the failure that has surrounded this team for years; they filed for bankruptcy.
This is not the first Major League team to do so, but it is not a common thing that is done. The last time a team filed for bankruptcy was in 1993 when the Baltimore Orioles did so.
The Cubs probably had their best chance to reverse the ”Billy Goat Curse” in 2003 when they faced the Marlins in the NLCS. Of course that was the year of the infamous Bartman incident. If I were the owner of the Cubs’ franchise, I would leave Chicago, change the name of the team, and start from scratch. They need to get rid of everything related to their team and their history. I truly believe that this team is cursed, and they will not win until they change their image.
Filing for bankruptcy just shows you how much trouble this team is really in. If some changes aren’t made soon, be prepared for another 99 years of failure.
