The Phillies: A Team with Hope and Opportunities

Out of the 4 teams that are in the League Championship Series, only one of them did not sweep their opponent in the first round. phillies That team is, of course, the Philadelphia Phillies. Even though they are the only team to not sweep in round one, I believe the Phillies are the team with the biggest edge in round two.

The reason the Phillies are going to be so tough is because they were truly tested against the Rockies. In fact, the Phillies are a 2-out rally away from being in a game 5 with the team from Colorado. The resiliency that the Phillies displayed in game 4, is the type of character that a baseball team needs to win in the playoffs.

They could have very easily given up, and hoped to win a game 5 at home, but they didn’t. They took care of business when they had the opportunity, and they earned themselves some much-needed rest before their next series with the Dodgers.

The Phillies are well aware of what could have been in their series against the Rockies, and they are going to make sure that they don’t put themselves in that kind of situation against the Dodgers. This team is the defending World Series Champions, so they know what winning is all about in October.

They realize that all teams need is hope and an opportunity, and they are going to do everything in their power to prevent the Dodgers from having those two things. Because the truth is, the Phillies are a team that has built their recent success based on hope and opportunities. Once their opponents acquire those things, the Phillies will have a much tougher time remaining on top.
