Most Impressive Win – Dallas Cowboys – The Cowboys sacked Matt Ryan 4 times, which is double the amount that Ryan had been sacked in all other games combined. Tony Romo looked awesome, and Miles Austin showed that his performance against the Chiefs was no fluke, as he had 6 catches for 171 yards and 2 TDs. Even Patrick Crayton got in on the action with a receiving TD and a punt return TD, as the Cowboys handled the Falcons easily 37-21.
Best Overall Performance (Team) – Green Bay Packers – For the second week in a row, the Packers were on the positive side of a lopsided game. They dominated on offense and defense against the Browns, as they went on to win 31-3.
Best Overall Performance (Player) – Miles Austin – When you follow up a 250-yard game with a 171-yard outing, it is safe to say that you have arrived. Miles Austin is changing the attitude in Dallas right now, and he is giving them hopes for the playoffs.
Breakout Performer – Alex Smith – The former number 1 overall pick, came in during the second half against the Texans, and he almost erased a 21 point deficit for the Niners. Smith went 15/22 for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns, and he has definitely caused a QB controversy in San Francisco.
Most Impressive Win – Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers seem to finally be in high gear this season. They came into Sunday’s game against the undefeated Vikings, hoping to give the team in purple their first loss of the season. That is exactly what they did, getting 2 touchdowns from their defense, and giving Brett a reason to feel human. Huge win for Pitt.
Best Overall Performance (Team) – New York Jets – Although the Bengals and Colts were close, the Jets had the largest margin of victory, and they were the only team to pitch a shutout. The Jets’ 38-0 beat down of the Raiders looks like the team that started the season 3-0, and rookie running back Shonn Greene looks like the real deal. Also, Sanchez protected the ball and proved that he could bounce back.
Best Overall Performance (Player) – Carson Palmer – Carson completed an insane 20/24 passes, and he threw for an incredible 5 touchdowns. He made a good Bears team look like a joke, and the Bengals will continue to roll as long as Carson looks this good. He looks like he is back to where he was before his big injury.
Breakout Performer – Shonn Greene – With Leon Washington now out for the season, Shonn Greene showed that the Jets have nothing to worry about on Sunday. Greene ran for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first meaningful action of the season. It looks like the hype surrounding this kid was well-deserving.
