Yes, the Colts and the Saints are only 7-0 in a 16-game season, but there are already talks about each team going perfect for the season. In a season where the difference between the top teams and the rest of the league seems so far apart, this is the kind of season where perfection is certainly possible. But the Patriots went perfect a few seasons back, and of course it resulted in a heartbreaking loss in the Super Bowl. Should the Colts and the Saints continue their climb to perfection, or would they be better off with a blemish or two on their records in order to learn a lesson before it’s too late? Below is a picture of Peyton Manning and Drew Brees each climbing the ladder to perfection, where the ’72 Dolphins are sitting all alone. Based on the picture, it looks like Manning is taking the ‘one game at a time’ approach, whereas Brees looks like he is getting caught up in the possibility of having a perfect season and might be overlooking a few games along the way. If I was Brees, I would try to take a page out of Manning’s book.
