When Ronnie Brown was ruled out for the season earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins appeared to be out of the water. However, on Thursday night against the Panthers, Ricky Williams showed them that they still might have a chance to be dangerous. The former Heisman Trophy Winner filled in brilliantly for the injured Brown, as he tallied 119 yards rushing, 19 yards receiving, and 3 touchdowns. Williams’ third touchdown, which turned out to be the game-capper, was a 46-yard scamper with just under 4 minutes remaining in regulation. Williams’ overall performance proved to be too much for the Carolina Panthers, and the Dolphins came away with a 24-17 victory, which pulled their record to 5-5 on the season. The Panthers dropped to 4-6.
Below is a picture of 3 Ricky Williams coming out of a magician’s hat. Each Ricky represents a touchdown from Thursday night’s game. Williams’ ”Hat Trick” came at the perfect time for the Dolphins, as they were facing a hot Panthers squad. The win now has the Dolphins a game and a half behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East. If Ricky continues to pull out magical performances like the one he had on Thursday night, the Dolphins will be a team that nobody wants to face in the last few weeks of the season.
