My Best Prediction Yet

About a month ago, there was a contest on Ballhype where contestants needed to predict the amount of points that the Lakers and Celtics would score combined in the month of November. The top three closest guessers would receive a copy of the book, “When The Game Was Ours.” Since I heard some great reviews about the book, I figured I would make a guess and hope for the best.

As the month of November progressed, I would check the point totals of the Lakers and Celtics every now and then, just to see if my guess was on pace to come close. With about six total games left, I was still on a pretty good pace, but I felt like I was still a longshot. So from that point on, I did not tally up scores anymore, and I basically gave up any real hope of winning the contest.

Then, out of nowhere, as I checked my E-mail tonight, I saw that I had a private message from Ballhype in my inbox. When I first saw it, I figured someone had made a comment to a group I belonged to, but I opened it to see for sure. When I opened the message, I was surprised and excited to see that I had won the contest, and not only that, but my prediction of 2,875 points was the exact point total by LA and Boston in November!

Here’s a copy of the message:
