Last night Kobe Bryant showed why he is regarded as one of the best NBA players to ever play the game. How? By scoring 42 points with a broken finger.

I don’t know about you, but I know that when my finger is sprained or deeply bruised, I can barely even move it. If I do move it, the pain is so great that I will contemplate cutting the thing right off. So how can you explain Kobe Bryant’s 42 point outburst against the Bulls with a BROKEN finger? Not sprained, not bruised, but BROKEN!

The only way I can understand something like that is by looking at Kobe Bryant from a different perspective. Kobe appears to be a human being just like you and me, but that’s where the similarities end. His ridiculous basketball prowess, his will to win, and his disregard for pain, are all on sub-human levels. In other words, Kobe Bryant is basically an alien.

Normal human beings cannot comprehend what this ‘guy’ does a lot of the time because they are comparing him to other normal human beings. But you can’t compare apples and oranges, you need to compare apples and apples.

I know that all of this ‘sub-human’ alien talk seems like just an opinion, but in actuality it’s not. If you look at Kobe’s latest interview, following his 42 point mystery, you will see it all very clearly in black and white. Here’s what Kobe said in regards to his apparent disregard for pain:

“Pain for ‘you guys’ is not the same as it is for me. I have the ability to go out there and stay focused on one thing, and that’s helping my team win ball games. Broken fingers, and things of that nature, come secondary. When I came here (Earth) I couldn’t believe the types of injuries that would sideline some players. I guess I am just on a sub-human level compared to the rest.”

So there you have it. Spoken like a true alien. But even though he might be an alien, Kobe Bryant is still one of the best NBA players to ever lace ‘em up. What he has done for the game of basketball is truly remarkable, regardless of the planet he is from.
