According to @WojYahooNBA, T-Mac just texted a friend, giddy, saying: “I’m a New York Knick!”
So here’s my question, Why would anyone be giddy to play for the Knicks right now?
Of course I understand it’s New York, Madison Square Garden, Spike Lee, big stage, the whole nine. But when you get past all of that, you have a floundering franchise who hasn’t accomplished anything in years.
So I decided to make it my business to get in touch with T-Mac to find out why he was so giddy. Luckily for me (sarcasm), McGrady was swarmed with people, and it was basically impossible to get in contact with the newest Knick. At that point, I realized I needed a plan.
I decided that the only way to divert other people’s attention was with a bigger star than McGrady. So I pulled out my phone, and I gave Chris Dudley a call (of course he’s #14 on my speed dial). In no time, I had Chris Dudley in the middle of New York City.
With the snap of a finger, flocks of people ran to Dudley, and they begged for autographs and interviews. McGrady, on the other hand, was all alone with his head down. Bingo!
I approached T-Mac, and I asked him why he was so giddy about coming to New York.
T-Mac just laughed and told me, “I was just kidding when I said that. If you know me, I love to sleep. I sleep like 20 hours a day sometimes. So the fact that I just signed with the Knicks, who play in “the city that doesn’t sleep,” it’s going to be torcher for me. I just need to make sure to get me a sound-proof and light-proof home, so that I can keep out all of the noise and lights. Oh, if I could have only gone to the Nets…”
I knew it sounded too crazy to be true. T-Mac is not only ticked off to be playing for a terrible team, but he is also ticked off to be playing in a city that’s too loud and too bright for his sleeping habits. You gotta love sarcasm. By the way, epic burn on the Nets at the end. Ouch!
